Dr Matthew Mowthorpe holds a PhD in the Militarisation and Weaponisation of Space which was published in the US in 2003. Subsequently he worked in the UK Ministry of Defence where he headed up the Space and Counterspace Threats team for ten years. Following that he worked in the Airbus UKEyes Only Spade team for two years leading the Space Threats team working on Protect and Defend. He is currently the Key Accounts Manager for Space Control in the BAE Space National Security and Government. He continues to publish counterspace articles on Russian, Chinese, Iranian space threats, along with articles on the threat from Space-Based Intelligence and Reconnaissance from both Russia and China.
